Abstract: Very early in his life Ford Madox Ford became familiar with Provence through his father’s work, The Troubadours, and his grandfather’s paintings (Wiesenfarth 2005, 131), and later, through his own repeated travels to the South of France where he finally settled down at the end of his life.
