Abstract: Sediment microfacies, geochemical µ-XRF and X-ray density analyses were conducted on varved sediments from Lake Kortejärvi (eastern Finland) covering the last 2700 years. Varves comprise couplets of detrital and organic sub-layers throughout the complete time-span.
