Abstract: The focus of this Letter is on the activity of a network of neurons pairwise coupled by inhibitory connections. Each neuron is represented by a two-dimensional map capable, when isolated, of a rich variety of complex dynamical regimes. It is shown that the network exhibits a stimulus-dependent sequential activation and inactivation of subgroups of neurons.
