Abstract: International audience; We provide in this study a new application of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to evaluate whether ancient bones contain sufficient organic material before radiocarbon dating, which can avoid a complex preliminary analysis on the samples or unnecessary sampling.
