Abstract: The Sediment-Hosted Geothermal Systems are hybrid geological systems, where geothermal and sedimentary domains interact, leading to mixtures of inorganic and biotic gases. They are named Sediment-Hosted Geothermal Systems (SHGS) or Sediment-Hosted Hydrothermal Systems (SHHS), a clear and univocal definition is not available.
