Abstract: Abstract A systematic spectroscopic study of the mixed-halide MX system PtClχBr1−χ reveals a rich and complex resonance Raman spectra dominated by a series of lines which lie between the fundamental symmetric strech (ν1) chain phonon modes of the two constituent pure PtX materials. Each one of these lines comes into resonance at successively different excitation energies.
