Abstract:
This is a collection of micro-CT scans of archaeological dental calculus deposits from individuals of Leiden University's osteology collection, specifically individuals excavated at Arnhem (Eusebiuskerk and Jansbeek) dated ca. This data was collected for a MSc thesis project, by researchers from Leiden University and Delft University of Technology. The aim of the project was to investigate visibility of plant remains in micro-CT scans of dental calculus. It was concluded that this is not a suitable method for identifying plant remains for dietary reconstruction, but nonetheless the scans can be useful for future research. (Read More)
