Abstract:
Climate change due to CO2 emissions has been defined as the major environmental challenge to be faced nowadays by the International Community. The European Directive 2009/28/EC of 23 April 2009 on the Promotion of Renewable Energy aims at achieving by 2020 a 20% share of energy from renewable sources in the EU's final consumption of energy.
