Abstract:
Field experiments were performed in the Guanghua Oil Field, China, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of regional cathodic protection covering both the oil gathering pipeline network and the well casings. This paper reviews the results of the investigation emphasizing the necessity of joint protection for pipelines and casings. Recommendations are given concerning the rational layout of anodic groundbeds, distribution of protection current and monitoring the state of casing protection.
