Abstract: Deliverable 4.2 covers the progress of work done in Task 4.1 of workpackage 4. This task aims at generating a detailed 3D geological model of the subsurface of the city of Geilenkirchen. In order to provide estimates of expected temperature at depth, and groundwater flow velocity, we discretize the detailed 3D geological model for simulating temperature and groundwater flow, while considering a heterogeneous underground. The numerical model has ran on JURECA (Juelich Research on Exascale Cluster Architectures) using the code SHEMAT-Suite.
