Abstract: The aim of this paper is to describe how emotive information is conveyed through speech. Specific attention was paid to the differences along the dimension of emotional arousal and valence. 10 Hungarian speakers, 5 female and 5 male uttered the vowel /a/ expressing 7 emotions and an emotionally electroglottographic (EGG) signals were recorded simultaneously in a sound- treated room.
