Abstract: Abstract We present a brief overview of several recent developments in the theoretical modeling of “conducting polymers” (more accurately, “π-conjugated polymers”), focusing on two general issues: (1) the respective effects of electron-electron (e-e) and electron-phonon (e-p) interactions and (2) the role of “dimensionality” in nearly crystalline samples of π-conjugated polymers.
