Abstract: Cocaine and amphetamine regulated transcript (CART) peptide has been shown to be an anorectic peptide that inhibits both normal and starvation-induced feeding and completely blocks the feeding response induced by neuropeptide Y and regulated by leptin in the hypothalamus.
