Abstract: Abstract Important feedback processes are calculated to occur by changing the direct emissions of carbon monoxide (CO), affecting the oxidizing capacity of the troposphere. As a policy measure to reduce the atmospheric loading of CH4, a 50 % reduction in the industrial emissions to 250 Tg-CO/yr would cause an increase by about 3.5% in OH concentrations leading to enhanced photochemical loss of CH4.
