Abstract: In the liquefaction process, the micellar-like broken down fragments produced by hydrolysis are degraded to smaller compounds by dehydration, dehydrogenation, deoxygenation and decarboxylation. These compounds once produced, rearrange through condensation, cyclization and polymerization, leading to new compounds.
